FRIDAY FINDS: JANUARY WEEK 2
I've been scouring the internet + instagram in search of must-haves for the new year and have found some gems! On this week's edition of Friday Finds, you'll find accessories + homewares. Enjoy!
I've been on the hunt for a well-structured black leather backpack for awhile now. I feel that it will complete my bag needs for my capsule collection. I randomly came across Dwarmis on Instagram and it immediately caught my eye. Their bags are handmade in NYC with imported leather from Dominican Republic. I love this one in particular because of the different textures. There are other colors available as well. Check them out!
You guys, I finally got one of these beauties last week! I've been crushing on the design of the Soma carafe and pitcher for the longest time. So what sets Soma apart from other water filtration companies out there beyond the design? The mission behind it. When you purchase a Soma product, you're also helping to eliminate the water crisis around the world. Part of their profits go back to Charity: Water, an organization committed to bringing clean and safe drinking water to every person in the world. On top of all this, Soma is committed to sustainability in the way they make their products and the business practices they put in place.
It's no secret that I have a huge crush on Everlane. My closet has quickly been overtaken and with them regularly introducing products into their lineup, I find something that I "can't live without" every single week. These beauties are part of the E1 Capsule Collection they launched awhile back. I already have their Chelsea Boots, which I adore, but I keep coming back to these considering I don't have any boots with heels at the moment. I want to invest in a wardrobe I can enjoy for years to come and these handcrafted Italian leather booties are calling my name.
There are so many things on my wish list from The Citizenry (I mean, check out the 'accents' page), but I decided to highlight this beautiful blanket for this post. It has an intricate black and white pattern with white tassels and would make a great addition to any home with its neutral color palette. The Citizenry works with local artisans in countries all over the world using local materials to produce beautiful home goods for us to enjoy. Definitely check them out if your apartment or home is needing to be refreshed!
GAIA FOR WOMEN
Gaia For Women is another company that I found via Instagram a month or two ago. They have purses, jewelry, home goods, and accessories for babes. All of their products are handmade in Dallas, TX by resettled refugee women using vintage or recycled textiles. I love the uniqueness of each product, but more than anything, I love to see women empowered. The stories these products tell are of much greater value than the product itself.
